P.H. TECH Ranked #1
Every year the NFRC in the US rates close to 22,000 windows from hundreds of suppliers. And every year since 1999, our top-end casement window design has earned the Number 1 spot.
With windows like that, imagine the value you can add to your home.
Standards and Certification Side by Side
Standards describe minimum performance requirements established by groups such as the AAMA and CSA. Although US and Canadian standards differ slightly, they assess essentially the same properties. These include energy efficiency, structural strength, air and water tightness, and forced entry.
The only way consumers can be sure that standards are being met: product certification. Based on testing by independent laboratories, certification is your guarantee that windows and doors meet or exceed industry standards. And you can use certification to compare products fairly and accurately.
P.H. Tech products comply to these standards:
AAMA/NWWDA 101 I.S2-97. An AAMA standard that defines US performance requirements for windows and doors as well as components such as extrusions, glass, sealants and hardware.
CSA A440-00. A CSA standard that defines Canadian performance requirements for windows.
CGSB82.1-M89. A CGSB standard that defines Canadian performance requirements for sliding doors.
Minimum ratings: DP 15 in the US; A1, B1, C1 in Canada.
What’s more, Canadian and US associations have developed a new harmonized North American standard, NAFS-1. Beginning on January 1, 2002, manufacturers and other industry pros will have 4 years to move to this standard. As our products come up for re-testing, we’re adhering to this standard in addition to the others.
Our products are also evaluated by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC), which uses CSA standards for testing. Industry pros count on the CCMC’s evaluations for impartial, technical opinions on innovative construction products, including doors and windows.
